The British Stallion Studs EBF “National Hunt” Novices’ Hurdle (Qualifier) 2m 3f looked a fair contest, the Paul Nicholls trained Arenice Et Pictons was made a short priced favourite but sadly he had to be pulled up after the fifth. The Venetia Williams trained BURTONS WELL ridden by Aiden Coleman could have been called the winner two from home he jumped and stayed on very well to win comfortably on debut beating Buckhorn Timothy by 3 lengths.
The end of the racing season at Newton Abbot was celebrated in style on Friday 10th October, with crowds descending on the racecourse to see the unveiling of the much talked about tribute to AP McCoy.
2.20: Paul Nicholls introduces French import ARENICE ET PICTONS who finished third over hurdles at Auteuil in April we expect him to make it a winning British debut here. Point winner Sykes makes his hurdling debut and could pose a threat, the main danger appears to be Harry Fry’s Polamco who won a bumper at the third time of asking and makes his hurdling debut too.
Friday 10th October will mark the end of the 2014 racing season at Newton Abbot Racecourse. To celebrate, the racecourse will unveil a special tribute racing’s most successful jump jockeys, AP McCoy OBE.
