Timings Announced For Family Fun Day: Sunday 21 July

Families are set to descend upon Newton Abbot Racecourse on Sunday 21 July 2024 for the return of the ever-popular Family Raceday!

Alongside an action-packed line-up of races during the afternoon, additional family entertainment will be available, adding extra fun for all ages.

The first 200 children through the gates on Sunday will each receive a free gift.

On the day, families will also find inflatables alongside the racecourse’s children’s play area. Situated next to the track, it allows parents to enjoy all of the afternoon’s racing action whilst still able to watch their children having fun.

We will also have a face painter – this addition promises to bring extra joy and creativity to the event, offering children the chance to transform into their favourite characters, animals, and more.

Plus, there will be lots of food options to choose from:

- Pork Bap gazebo
- Alfresco Fast food café with decking
- Silks Café for barista coffee, snack and cakes
- Paddock Carvery – enjoy our rolling carvery for just £16 per head

Additional Food outlets include:
- The Funky Anchovy Pizza
- The Tastie Toastie (by the bouncy castles)
- Two ice cream vans
- Loaded Tortilla Chips and Fries (underneath the Teign Suite)
- The Authentic Thia Food Company

Pat Masterson, Managing Director at Newton Abbot Racecourse, said: “You’re never too young to enjoy a day at the races and few sports offer the opportunity to see the stars of the show up-close.

“Whether it’s seeing their jockey heroes mount the horses in the Parade Ring or watching the horses thunder past towards the Winning Post, there are so many fantastic memories to be made at the racecourse.

“We hope our Family Raceday will start the summer holidays off on a high for many families.”

As one of the most popular fixtures of the racing calendar, racegoers are advised to allow extra time for their journey to avoid delays entering the course on Sunday.

When buying tickets online in advance, you’ll save £2 on Paddock admission. Tickets will also be available on the gate on the day – kids go FREE.

The first of Sunday’s six races is set for 14:20pm. Gates open at 12:20pm.
