The New Season Begins at Newton Abbot on Easter Saturday

The wait is nearly over as we prepare to welcome racegoers back to Newton Abbot Racecourse for the start of our 2026 season.

Our opening fixture takes place on Easter Saturday, 4 April, when the jumps action returns to the Devon track for an exciting afternoon of racing. Gates open at 12:00pm, with the first race scheduled for 2:00pm, giving racegoers plenty of time to soak up the atmosphere before the runners head to post.

Easter Saturday is always a fantastic way to begin the season, with friends, families and racing enthusiasts gathering around the parade ring and along the rails to enjoy the thrill of National Hunt racing once again.

The entertainment doesn’t stop when the final horse crosses the line either. Racegoers are invited to stay on course for our Party in the Paddock, featuring live music from popular South West band The Shrine, providing the perfect way to round off the day.

With children admitted free, great value enclosure tickets and a complimentary raceday bus service from Newton Abbot train station, it’s an ideal day out whether you’re a seasoned racegoer or making your first visit to the racecourse.

We can’t wait to welcome you back through the gates as the tapes go up on another exciting season at Newton Abbot.
