Record-Breaking Attendance at Antiques Fair & Classic Car Show!

Newton Abbot Racecourse was bustling with excitement on Saturday (8 June) as 980 people flocked to the Antiques Fair & Classic Car Show, setting a new record for attendance!

The event, which celebrated the golden era of motoring, showcased a breath-taking collection of vintage vehicles, each telling its own story of automotive history.

The highlight of the show was the ‘Best in Show’ award, which was claimed by Will Edwards for his impeccably restored 1953 Austin Healey 100/4.

Special recognition goes to Frank Loft, the esteemed founder of the Moretonhampstead Motor Museum, who lent his expert eye to this year’s Classic Car Show as the chief judge. Loft’s lifelong passion for historic vehicles is evident in his museum.

While the classic cars drew crowds outside, the Antiques Fair inside the racecourse offered a treasure trove of collectibles and vintage items. Enthusiasts perused a wide array of antiques, from fine china and jewellery to rare books and memorabilia, each piece sparking nostalgia and admiration.

For those who missed this special event, there’s good news on the horizon! More classic cars will be featured at the upcoming Country Show at Newton Abbot Racecourse on August 10, 2024.

Additionally, the next Antiques Fair is scheduled for Saturday, September 14, 2024, promising another opportunity to revel in the charm of yesteryear.
