If you’re joining us for the return of the Newton Abbot Wellbeing Show on Saturday 14 May, you’re in for a treat as we can now proudly announce our Wellbeing Workshops for the day.
Taking place in the Paddock Room, Owners and Trainers Lounge and Silks Café, each workshop will give a different insight into ways to support your wellbeing journey. And the best bit of all – entry to all Wellbeing Workshops in included within the day’s entry fee of just £3.
PADDOCK ROOM
11.15am – 11.45am ~~ Emily Mascarenhas ~~ Your Health Your Choice
Take back ownership of your health using natural solutions & pure essential oils, to support mind, body & spirit wellness. Lead by integrative nutrition health coach, simplicity parenting coach, cacao facilitator & doTERRA essential oils UK founder Emily Mascarenhas. Emily will guide you around how you can connect with nature & harness her healing support as a tool for all manner of physical, mental and emotional ailments. Be prepared for whatever life may serve up, smell & experience the potency of these 100% pure and potent essential oils & grow your confidence in using them.
12.00pm – 12.30pm ~~ Dr Claire Ryan ~~ Chiropractic Talk
Chiropractic is a healthcare profession that cares for a patient’s neuromusculoskeletal system — the bones, nerves, muscles, tendons, and ligaments. A chiropractor helps manage back and neck pain through the use of spinal adjustments to maintain good alignment.
Dr Claire Ryan will be giving a talk on “How Structure effects Wellbeing”.
12.45pm – 1.15pm ~~ Sari Youlden ~~ Wellness Workshop Experience
The purpose of your wellness experience is to provide a pitstop de-stress spa wellness session. We offer an interactive 30 minute session sat around a table using our award-winning aromatherapy products and breathing techniques and de-stress/relaxation rituals to use at home and in the workplace.
1.30pm – 2.00pm ~~ Fiona Hedworth ~~ Traditional Acupuncture
There will be a short talk on Traditional Acupuncture and its benefits. This will then be followed by a free pulse and tongue diagnosis for anyone wishing to take part.
2.15pm – 2.45pm ~~ Ms Charlotte King ~~ The Pebble Ridge Practice Educational and Interactive Mental Health
This workshop will involve learning a little bit about how the brain works in relation to how we feel when stressed, anxious, overwhelmed, low mood etc…. and how you can start to change your way of thinking and begin to take control of your thoughts.
We will also have a short interactive visualisation session for relaxation and which will also demonstrate how the mind works.
OWNERS & TRAINERS LOUNGE
11.15am – 11.45am ~~ Anne Sheekey ~~ An introduction to the importance of daily rituals
This workshop offers an introduction to the importance of daily rituals and how making small but better decisions helps us to step out of our autopilot and connect us back to our truer selves. We will then look at how cultivating a daily tea ritual can amplify these benefits.
12.00pm – 12.30pm ~~ Simon Blackler ~~ An introduction to Flower Essences
An opportunity to learn about flower essences, how to capture one and decipher its particular quality and message that it has for us all in this lifetime. Also, how the Allies of Nature Mandala of Essences is here to help us all return to the place of wholeness and balance, one flower and one quality at a time.
12.45pm – 1.15pm ~~ Barbara Sealey-Bowers ~~Consciously Creating a life you desire
This 30 min workshop introduces Conscious Creation. Together we will look at how we can shift the Power from “What we don’t want” to “what we do want” and actively move into the creation of a life that we love.
This workshop aims to give you an insight into what causes the resistance to change that we so often experience along our way and why this resistance so often stops us in our tracks.
We will discuss the importance of conscious choices in making the shift to achieve the change we desire in our lives and that we truly can realise our dreams.
1.30pm – 2.00pm ~~ Jeff Sleeman ~~ Comedy Drama Improvisation
An opportunity to try drama improvisation suitable for all ages and abilities, no performance experience required.
A great way to connect with people, learn useful life skills and have fun.
Simple word games and improvised dialogue (think “Whose line is it anyway”)
Everyone welcome.
2.15 – 2.45pm ~~ Barbara Sealey-Bowers ~~ Food of the Gods Cacao Ceremony & Drum meditation
This 30 min ceremony and meditation celebrates this revered Food of the Gods. Cacao is ‘gentle but powerful, her effects can help reduce stress, raise your spirits and increase your wellbeing.
After the ceremony we will be guided by the drum into a peaceful state of relaxation.
We can sit on chairs or the floor – I suggest you are dressed warmly. However, caution should be taken if you are pregnant, on antidepressants, taking hypertension medicine or have a heart condition.
Request a vanilla elixir and enjoy the ceremony.
SILKS CAFE – GROUND FLOOR
12.00pm – 12.30pm ~~ Katrina Sheehan ~~ Shamanic Journey
The shamanic journey involves travelling within oneself for the purpose of understanding and healing the self. With the aid of a drum beat the steady rhythm allows one to drop into a deep state of relaxation/awakening sleep.
12.45pm – 1.15pm ~~ Lisa Coffey ~~ Introduction to Dianetics
The workshop will consist of a short talk and explanation about Dianetics, The Modern Science of
Mental Health. This will be followed by a short demonstration using an E-meter. (electropsychometer)
THESE WORKSHOPS WILL TAKE PLACE IN SILKS CAFÉ AT THE END OF EXHIBITION HALL 2.
All workshops are included within the entrance fee, with no additional cost.
