Families are set to descend upon Newton Abbot Racecourse on Sunday 23 July for the return of the ever-popular Family Raceday.
Despite the continued cost of living crisis, families can enjoy a fun-filled day out for less with the racecourse’s free entry for children offer, alongside reduced ticket prices for 2023.
Alongside six action-packed races during the afternoon, additional family entertainment will be available on Sunday, adding extra fun for all ages.
The first 200 children through the gates on Sunday will each receive a free children’s goody bag* with a range of activities to help entertain the younger guests during the afternoon.
In the Course Enclosure, families will also find inflatables, alongside the racecourse’s children’s play area. Situated next to the track, it allows parents to enjoy all of the afternoon’s racing action whilst still able to watch their children having fun.
Speaking ahead of Sunday’s fixture, Pat Masterson, Managing Director at Newton Abbot Racecourse said: “We appreciate that families are feeling the pinch now, more than ever, which is why we’ve reduced our prices for the 2023 season by up to £6 a ticket, alongside continuing our free entry offer for under 18s.
“You’re never too young to enjoy a day at the races and few sports offer the opportunity to see the stars of the show up-close. Whether it’s seeing their jockey heroes mount the horses in the Parade Ring or watching the horses thunder past towards the Winning Post, there are so many fantastic memories to be made at the racecourse.
“We hope our Family Raceday will start the summer holidays off on a high for many families this Sunday.”
As one of the most popular fixtures of the racing calendar, racegoers are advised to allow extra time for their journey to avoid delays entering the course on Sunday.
Course Enclosure tickets are on sale for only £12 or Paddock Enclosure tickets at only £16 when booking in advance, or £18 on the day. Tickets will be available on the gate on Sunday.
The first of Sunday’s six races is set for 2.35pm with the closing race at 5.10pm. Gates open at 12.35pm.
